Petko Hristov is an ethnologist and social historian. His research interests include labour migration, women’s mobility, transnational social networks, family and kinship, transnationalism and identity. His book Community and Celebrations: The Sluzhba, Slava, Sabor and Kourban in South Slavic Villages in the First Half of 20 Century was awarded with the Best Academic Achievement in Humanities by the Union of Bulgarian Scientists (2007).Ivaylo Markov is an ethnologist. His research interests include mobility and sociocultural transformations, transnational families, and heritage in migration. He was awarded the Professor Marin Drinov Award for Young Scientists by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2017).Violeta Periklieva is a philologist and ethnologist. Her research interests include migration and mobility, border studies, anthropology of religion, and identity. She was awarded the Academician Ivan Evstratiev Geshov Award for Youngest Scientist by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2013).Desislava Pileva is an ethnologist, whose research interests include mobility and migration, mixed and transnational families, sociocultural interactions, and adaptation in migration.
