Stephen T. Buckman (editor) is an Associate Professor of Real Estate Development at Clemson University. He is 2023/2024 Fulbright Scholar award recipient to Brazil where he will study land value capture and its impacts on real estate in Rio de Janeiro. His research is primarily centered on resiliency, waterfront development, community real estate development, and how public–private partnerships bring these all together. Before entering the academy, Dr. Buckman worked in real estate development for the Trammell Crow Investment Division and had his own small firm as well as working in investment commercial brokerage. At present Dr. Buckman consults for developers and communities and does his own multi-family developments. Dr. Buckman holds a PhD from Arizona State University.
