J. A. Zahm, also known as Father John Augustine Zahm, was a notable figure in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, both as a man of letters and a scientist. Zahm was a Roman Catholic priest and a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross. He was born on June 14, 1851, in New Lexington, Ohio, and later became a prominent educator and author, known for his work as a professor and vice president at the University of Notre Dame.
