The book also covers the ever increasing diversity of the journalism field and brings in new voices from professionals working in the industry to discuss these topics. Other new additions include in-depth discussions of fake news, expanded coverage of social media in the newsroom, and an overview of the latest advances in technology available to television and radio news reporters.

Broadcast News Writing, Reporting, and Producing remains the best book for undergraduate students in journalism writing, producing, newsgathering, and multimedia courses.
