The nearly 50 books and monographs he has authored or edited and more than 350 articles under his byline have dealt with media ownership, press freedom, media imperialism, NIIO, women in communications, transnationalization, Third World mass communication, and development communication, as well as Asian newspapers, broadcasting, film, video, popular culture, and comics and Caribbean mass media and popular culture. He is a professor in a Philadelphia "academic factory."
