Defending Justice as Reciprocity

This title provides a defence of "justice as reciprocity" by re-casting the Rawisian conception of justice and addressing some of its critics within political philosphy, from liberal egalitarians to right and left libertarians.

The sharing of ideas is a fertile process, but is made difficult when there is more than one discipline involved. In seeking to apply the analysis of political philosophy to the concerns of social policy this work often challenges the prevailing ideas of both traditions, but it does not wallow in the difficulties or allow controver sies surrounding some sacred cows in either camp to obscure its intention to supply debate and discussion that is both intriguing and stimulating, if not at times controversial.
