Do YOU believe in fairies . . . ?

The eccentric, infamous and exceedingly wealthy writer of romantic fiction Cassandra Tipp has vanished. Her large, rambling house abandoned but for a pile of paper. Addressed to her niece and nephew, it is a letter. The siblings hope that it might unlock her last will and testament. But it is not quite what they expected . . .
For Cassie has been a murder suspect twice in her life and her surviving family have long been convinced of her guilt. Could the letter be her long-overdue confession? But instead of any indication of remorse, the letter tells two extraordinary and darkly disturbing stories. One is of their aunt’s life-long relationship with a creature called Pepper-Man, of bloody nights and magical gifts, of children lost to the woods, husbands made from twigs and leaves and sticks and stones; the other is that of an abused little girl growing crooked in the shadows. Which story should the siblings believe? And where is Cassie now? Dead in a ditch, or gone from this world . . . and into another?
You Let Me In is at once the tale of a faerie seduction and a story about an abused child. Crossing the boundaries between magic and reality, we are shown our world, judgemental and cruel, and offered glimpses of another, dark and very different place that is hidden to most of us. Both stories might be true. Both stories end in murder.

CAMILLA BRUCE was born in Verdal in central Norway and grew up in an old forest, next to an Iron Age burial mound which, she admits, probably influenced her imagination as a child. She has a master’s degree in comparative literature from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has worked both as a fortune teller/resident witch at a magic shop and Communications Manager at Ringve, Norway's national museum for music. She also co-runs Belladonna Publishing, a micro-press based in Trondheim, where she lives. You Let Me In is her first novel.
