He is the author of Where Film Meets Philosophy: Godard, Renais, and Experiments in Cinematic Thinking (Columbia, 2013) and Hollywood's Dirtiest Secret: The Hidden Environmental Costs of Our Screen Culture (Columbia, 2019) and coeditor (with Tom Conley) of The Film Theory Handbook (Anthem, forthcoming) and (with Meryl Shriver-Rice) of Screen Life and Identity: an Introduction to Media Studies (Cognella, forthcoming).
