Tony Chafer is Professor of Contemporary French Studies at the University of Portsmouth and Director of its Centre for European and International Studies Research Alexander Keese is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Portsmouth and Research Group Director of ‘Forced Labour Africa’, a project funded by the European Commission under Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Institute for Asian and African Studies.
