"America is big enough to accommodate all their dreams"

In the media, Barack Obama has been celebrated like an icon ever since he first appeared in public during the National Democratic Convention in July 2004. He is considered an exceptional example for the American citizen as he has a culturally mixed heritage and the diversity of his own family tree is distinctive. Furthermore, he is not only a successful lawyer but at the same time he is personally engaged for the public good. Moreover, due to the ups which pushed him forward and especially due to the downs which he successfully conquered in 2004, “some newspaper and magazine editorial writers predicted that the rising star from Illinois would emerge a strong leader in the Democratic Party over the next few years, and could even run for president in 2012 or 2016”. Barack Obama is considered to personify the American dream per se, the myth which has existed as long as the nation itself, and which still lasts today.
