The Key Issues series addresses some of the major challenges facing
early years settings and primary schools. ‘Parents as Partners' is one
of the four themes of the EYFS and this book looks in detail at
why the relationship between the parent/practitioner/child is so
important, backed up by research into emotional development, studies
from Scandinavia and other countries. More importantly, it provides practical advice
and guidance on how successful parent partnerships can be achieved,
right from before children enter the school/setting through to when
they are ready to move on.

Amy Arnold has taught across the primary phase, predominantly in Early Years and Key Stage One. She has held a variety of roles including Deputy Headteacher, Acting Headteacher and Local Authority Early Years Consultant. Amy is currently teaching at the University of Cambridge, inspiring trainee teachers on the Early Years and Primary PGCE. Amy is passionate about making young children's learning meaningful, purposeful and irresistible.
