2022 Violet Fairy, Ultra (Week at a Time) Verso Diary

This captivating image comes from the first edition of Scottish poet and anthropologist Andrew Lang’s The Violet Fairy Book. Compiled in 1907 by Lang (1844–1912) and illustrated by Henry Justice Ford (1860–1941), the book was one in a twelve-part series known as Lang’s Fairy Books. Each book in the series was named for the colour of its fairy. This Violet Fairy design reproduces the front cover of that book’s first edition.
