the Cairngorms National Park.

A magnificent gift and reference book illustrated with over 100 pictures.
Cairn Gorm is a high granite mountain in the Grampian Highlands of Scotland which is rarely far from controversy.
Few people have witnessed as close-up how the mountain has progressed through the last twenty tumultuous years
as Nic Bullivant, who has been Head Ranger there throughout the changes from an old chair-uplift system, through
the development of Scotland's only mountain railway, and on to the present commercial operator.
This book is written as if by your personal guide who intimately knows the region, drawing you into his world,
engaging your interest and then revealing the meanings and explanations of the obvious and the secret. Walk on
mountain paths, explore high corries, tread the immense mountain plateaux. Observe with him the mountain
wildlife and the unconscious humour of the visitor who has never been on a mountain before. Finally come closer to
understanding what it is that turns people into such dedicated advocates of the conservation of the Cairngorms.
There are messages here of optimism and expectation, advice for suitors of the high tops and would-be rangers. This
book will get you nearer to understanding the Cairngorms and cherishing them, even if you have never been there.
