Poems for Friendship & Joy is a collection of handsome cards that juxtaposes quotes from classic poetry with a bright, contemporary design.
Poems for All Occasions Notecards is a collection of beautifully typeset quotes, chosen by the Academy of American Poets from the most popular poems accessed from their online archive. The keepsake box contains 20 cards (2 each of 10 designs) and includes poetry selections for gratitude, friendship, love, and happiness. The notecards follow the publication of the Academy’s anthology A Poem a Day: 365 Poems for All Occasions (Abrams Image Fall 2015); both the anthology and the notecards feature a fresh, contemporary design that is reminiscent of mid-century jacket art.
Selections include:
“With thee conversing I forget all time” from Paradise Lost by John Milton
“If ever two were one, then surely we” from To My Dear and Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet
“We have been friends together, / In sunshine and in shade” from We Have Been Friends Together by Caroline Elizabeth Sarah Norton
“He who kisses the joy as it flies, / Lives in eternity’s sunrise” from Eternity by William Blake
“’Tis to the that I would drink.” from To Thomas Moore by George Gordon Byron
