Robert Dearn has had a varied sailing career from dinghy sailing and instructing to skippering traditional yachts of up to 72ft, and as a former Yachtmaster Instructor and Examiner, training and examining candidates for their Yachtmaster certificate. He currently owns a Heard 28 Gaff Cutter which he uses for family cruising in the West Country, North Brittany, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Scilly. He has written various logbooks for the RYA and publishes a series of 'Cockpit Cards' for quick on-board reference. He is the Harbour Master of the River Yealm in South Devon.
