This book provides comprehensive practice for all sections of the Common Entrance English Paper at 13+. A new and varied selection of texts and poems has been specifically chosen to provide comprehension practice and to provoke thought. In addition, this book provides a large bank of questions for the Studied Literature and Writing Task sections. The book is pitched carefully for use during the Common Entrance year and the questions are modelled on the ISEB exam papers. This is an ideal book for teachers to give extensive practice in the classroom or for parents wishing to give their child extra practice.
Amanda Alexander and Rachel Gee have extensive experience in the teaching and managing of English in prep schools, most recently running the English Department at Danes Hill Preparatory School in Surrey. Their aim is to promote excellent literacy skills to enable confident access of the whole curriculum and in forming Lex Education they continue to support teachers and parents and help children to read and write with understanding and rigour.
