Analyzing Environmental Trends Using Satellite Data, Selected Cases

This publication contains a number of case studies with satellite data taken over various time periods to give environmental assessments and early warning information about the potential consequences of development planning both for humans and the natural environment. The case studies cover: the Itaipu Dam and Iguazu River; Papua (Irian Jaya) in Indonesia; Lake Chad; Ataturk Dam and Harran Plain; and the Sundarbans.
