Dr Katie Laird is a Reader in Microbiology and Head of the Infectious Disease Research Group at De Montfort University. Her research is centred on the prevention of transmission of infectious disease, she is also the co-founder of A Germ's Journey Educational Resources. Dr Sarah Younie is Professor of Education Innovation at De Montfort University and is the co-founder of the Education Futures Collaboration charity and MESH (Mapping Education Specialist knowHow) project, which is a translational research initiative that provides evidence to inform teachers professional practice. Jules Marriner writes and illustrates picture books for children. Working from her hobbit hole studio on the Isle of Wight, she is inspired by the forest, the sea and the creatures that live in them.
