Human evolution is such a fast moving and exciting subject, with new finds changing our ideas and understanding of our ancestors. As Wendy and Michael couldn’t find a book on human evolution suitable for their grandchildren, they decided they would write a book themselves – one that is up-to-date and interesting for all ages.

The Story of Us: Becoming Human tells how we evolved together. It shows that we are all part of the same human family and that the differences between us are very small. This is a fitting message in today’s global society. It is one of the main reasons that Michael and Wendy wrote this book.

Wendy Hope had a first career as a teacher and headteacher. She is now an artist and also writes books with her husband, Michael Haralambos, and novels under her own name, W. E. Hope. Michael Haralambos has spent most of his life writing and publishing books, playing in bands and producing records.
