This CD-ROM provides the complete text of "Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine" (13th edition) and electronically links to the "US Pharmacopeia's 1995 USP DI Drug Information for the Health Care Professional USP DI". It provides full details on the medically accepted uses - both labelled and unlabelled - of over 9000 generic and brand name drug products. Plus, for selected references at the end of each "Harrison's" chapter, users have accesss to abstracts of articles from the "MEDLINE" database covering the last ten years of literature. The IBM PC (Windows) requirements are: IBM 386 (or later) PC or compatible; DOS 5.0 or higher; VGA Graphics Adapter required - Super VGA recommended, Super VGA graphics adapter required to accurately view the "Harrison's" colour plates; 4MB RAM required; Windows 3.0 or 3.1 installed on the computer and running in enhanced mode; hard disk drive, with at least 2MB free space; and printing capabilities - the application will print optimally on any of the Hewlett Packard or compatible family of printers.
The Macintosh PC requirements are: an Apple Macintosh computer; 2MB RAM required - 4MB RAM recommended (RMB RAM required if running System 7); Macintosh system software version 6.0.7 or later; a 256-colour monitor is required to accurately view the "Harrison's" colour plates; hard disk drive, with at least 1 MB free space and one floppy drive; printing capabilities - any Apple Macintosh-compatible printer.
