Reading Between the Lines

A DBQ is a Document-Based Question. Documents are found every where: in textbooks, in newspapers, the internet, and so forth. They can be represented as diagrams, maps, charts, tables, forms, consumer labels, primary source documents, or even political cartoons. Today's students have to be able to make sense of these documents - to read between the lines - in order to pass the new social studies and English state assessment tests. this workbook helps students practice brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing so they can write an effective essay.
