Land of Dust

The author studies the nature of the land of Palestine and the level of civilization attained by its residents at the turn of the century, employing the reactions of contemporary eyewitnesses along with a set of photographs prepared by T.W. Ingersoll and G. Eric Matson (the original photographs were color-tinted, and copyrighted by Ingersoll in 1904).
