The 23rd edition of this handbook for busy fleet operators and managers has been completely revised and updated to take account of recent developments in the industry and to ensure maximum accuracy. Topics covered include operator licensing; professional competence; tachographs; insurance; construction and use; maintenance; safety; rental, hiring and leasing and much more. As a result of significant changes in UK/EC driver licensing and new requirements for driver training, there are new chapters on Driver Licensing and Driving Tests and Driver Training. New information on the use of legal services for transport operators and vehicle breakdown/recovery services is provided in the chapter on Transport Services. In addition, there is an important new chapter on Transport in the Environment, an issue which everyone is now having to face. New appendices listing Goods Vehicle Testing Stations and Department of Transport Weighbridges are also included.
