The new edition of The SAGE Handbook of E-Learning Research retains the original effort of the first edition by focusing on research while capturing the leading edge of e-learning development and practice. Caroline Haythornwaite is Professor, School of Library, Archival & Information Studies, The iSchool at the University of British Columbia, Canada. I focus on research in the fields of language education, argumentation, writing development, multimodality, rhetoric and e-learning. With colleagues I designed the MA in English Education. Jude Fransman is a Leverhulme Research Fellow at the Institute of Educational Technology, Open University, UK. Eric M. Meyers is Assistant Professor, School of Library, Archival and Information Studies, The iSchool at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
