This is a guide for treating men with a broad-spectrum of problems such as drug and alcohol abuse, addiction, violence, sexual dysfunction, and career counselling. It also covers issues affecting men who are HIV positive, men in the military, gay men, men in prison and men with medical conditions.
It is widely acknowledged that, just like women, men have special and unique problems requiring a specific approach to diagnosis and treatment. This is a guide for treating men with a broad-spectrum of problems such as drug and alcohol abuse, addiction, violence, sexual dysfunction, career counselling and more. It also covers issues affecting men who are HIV positive, men in the military, gay men, men in prison and men with medical conditions such as anxiety and paranoia.

GARY R. BROOKS is an associate professor, department of psychology, Baylor University, and former chief of psychology service at the Veterans Administration Center in Temple, Texas. He is the author of A New Psychotherpay for Traditional Men (Jossey-Bass, 1998). GLENN E. GOOD, is an associate professor of educational and counseling psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the past president of APA's Men's Division (51). He is an editor of the Handbook of Counseling and Psychotherapy with Men (Sage, 1987).
