It is designed as a resource to aid the consultation, to complement what has been discussed with the patient, and may even reduce the need to give a prescription. Leaflets and self help group information can be printed out and used to explain illnesses or clinical procedures. Personal annotations can also be added to images as required and output for the patient. Similarly, headers on the printouts can be customized for your own GP practice. Links are available from many leaflets to other relevant software packages such as Oxford Clinical Mentor. Technological requirements are: a 486 or Pentium processor; Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 or 4; colour monitor set for minimum display of 640 x 480 pixels with 256 colours; minimum 8Mb RAM (16Mb recommended); minimum 14Mb free hard disk space; mouse; printer (InkJet or LaserJet recommended).
