Professor Pamela Newell received her B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997 and her J.D. from UNC School of Law in 2000. She received her LLM in Law and Government from American University in 2009. After law school, Professor Newell clerked at the N.C. Supreme Court, N.C. Court of Appeals and the N.C. Industrial Commission. She also worked as a Special Deputy Commissioner at the Industrial Commission and as GAL Appellate Counsel at the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts. She was in private practice specializing in workers' compensation. Professor Newell's specialties include appellate law and juvenile law.
