Describes things men need to know about pregnancy and the first 12 months after birth. This book aims to demystify the art of fatherhood and awaken men to the realisation that there is nothing to fear about being a dad. This is a practical, down-to-earth and unintimidating guide for new fathers and fathers-to-be which describes everything men need to know about pregnancy and the first 12 months after birth. Written from an entirely male perspective, this book aims to demystify the art of fatherhood and awaken men to the realisation that there is nothing to fear about being a dad. The book is written and packaged in such a way as to ensure it reaches new fathers from all backgrounds - including those who wouldn't usually pick up a book. Lots of photographs throughout show dads doing everything from holding a newborn correctly to changing nappies and bathing the baby. The narrative is friendly and engaging and is broken up with lots of subheadings so specific information can be located and digested easily. The three authors launched the website named diyfather on Father's Day 2007 due to a serious shortage of parenting advice exclusively targeting fathers. The response has been phenomenal. With more than 300,000 hits from around the world, the trio expect that number to rise to half a million within the year.

Scott Lancaster is the founder of DIYFather Ltd. He is the father of baby girl Pyper and married to Renee. After finding out there was a lack of parenting related information for fathers, Scott approached the other two directors who helped him build diyfather.com. Eric Mooij is a single father to Nastassja (14), Christian (13) and Amber (12). He works in IT support, where he leads a small team of technical analysts in support of a large range of government and private organisations. Stefan Korn and his wife Raquel gave birth to their son Noah in May 2007. He runs a web investment company called WebFund.
