The final section, 'Lighting at Work: Room by Room' demonstrates the key considerations when planning your lighting; how to link and divide spaces, enhance a small space with lighting, provide focal points etc. The book uses real locations to show examples of the techniques room by room. Sally Story gives expert advice throughout on creating dynamic visual statements in every home space, using lighting as a tool to provoke and intrigue. With a comprehensive directory to the vast range of state-of-the-art light fittings and fixtures, Perfect Lighting is the complete package -a source of real vision, inspiration and instruction.
Sally Storey is design director of John Cullen Lighting and Lighting Design International and one of the country's leading lighting experts. In addition to designing the products at John Cullen Lighting, much of her time is spent travelling all over the world to design lighting schemes for individual and corporate clients. She has written two successful books on the subject of lighting and is regularly asked to speak at interior design events, such as the Daily Telegraph/House and Garden Fair, Decorex, 100% Design and reader events for House and Garden magazine. She also lectures at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) conferences and has been a judge at the National Lighting Design Awards, the Society of Garden Designers Awards, the FX Design Awards and the Homes & Gardens Classic Design Awards. Sally has also appeared on numerous television programmes, including Channel 4's Grand Designs, More 4's Grand Designs: Trade Secrets and BBC 2's Home. She was the only lighting designer to be included in House and Garden magazine's Who's Who of British Design for the end of the millennium. She is the author of Perfect Lighting, published by Jacqui Small.
