Alfred G. Buckham was born in London in 1879, and began his career in photography in 1905. His subsequent aerial photography of Britain and Central and South America was both stunning and groundbreaking. This book seeks to tell Buckham's previously untold story for the first time.

Celia Ferguson, a student of art history, became fascinated by Buckham's work. She was fortunate enough to meet and strike up a friendship with Buckham's son, then in his late eighties, and subsequently to work on categorising Buckham's photographs and writing this book with the support of the entire Buckham family.
