His relationship with the game began in 1953, when his father took him to Carnoustie, Scotland, to watch the legendary Ben Hogan win the British Open. After competing at junior and amateur level he turned professional in 1971 and competed for a number of years in Europe and South Africa, where he played alongside golf greats such as Bobby Locke, Nick Price, Seve Ballesteros, Dale Hayes and Mark McNulty, and respected instructors such as Dave Leadbetter and Muss Gammon. Consultant Traviss Willcox, a keen amateur golfer for many years, brought together his passion for technology and sport through the website www.golftoday.co.uk. He has travelled widely in pursuit of his passion for golf, including 39 US states. He lives in Dover, Kent.
