Smoky quartz is a protective crystal with a brownish hue. Its dark color is normally caused by radiation and the presence of carbon, iron, or titanium impurities. The stone is said to lose its dark color and become almost clear as you work through the negativity and problems in your life. Its unique vibration helps you cope with difficult times, and it has the ability to block any unwanted vibrations around you—so it’s a potent stone to use at work when you need to deflect any backbiting or unpleasant gossiping from colleagues.

Crystal cure

As many office environments today are open-plan, it is inevitable that you will be influenced by the energies of the people sitting close to you. To deflect any negativity, take hold of your smoky quartz crystal for a few minutes, feeling its reasssuring aura. Ask it to form a protective barrier around you so that your energy field is not depleted by any malicious talk or action. Although little is known of its ritual use, fluorite, which was found in the ruins of Pompeii, has been with us since ancient times. Today, crystal healers use it as a stone of purification and protection. You can use fluorite at home or the office to absorb electromagnetic radiation from computers, and also to lift the overall energy levels in your work space.

Computer screens emit electromagnetic radiation, most of which is filtered by the screens, but this efficiency decreases as computers age. This radiation can make you feel lethargic, tired, and debilitated. The screen also gives out positive ions that can make your eyes very dry and sore.
