Rodney P. Carlisle holds a B.A. in history from Harvard University and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently professor emeritus at Rutgers University, where he taught for over 30 years and was a chair of the history department. He has written many articles and more than 20 books on history, including Facts On File's Encyclopedia of the Atomic Age and Persian Gulf War.
