Nicholas Martin was born in London but grew up primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. He received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 majoring in psychology. He completed graduate studies at the University of Hartford, receiving a Master's degree in Clinical Practices. He has worked as a psychologist and as an outpatient mental health counselor.
