Marian Martin can't remember a time when she wasn't around boats of some kind, but it needed an introduction to inland waterways to turn her into a boating addict. Having embarked on a career in civil engineering, she then realised she really wanted to be a writer. She is a regular contributor to Practical Boat Owner, Motor Boat and Yachting, Classic Boat and Fluviale (French). She is the author of European Waterways (Adlard Coles Nautical).
