Dealing with the impact of people on the landscape and of the landscape on people, this collection "shifts" from North to South, focusing region by region, with points of interest within each region illuminated. It includes imagery from a variety of sources including maps, vertical satellite pictures, 3Ds, aerial photography, archival pictures and "normal" photographs. In terms of the impact of people on the environment and vice versa, the title reveals how land use, erosion, population growth, the coast and sea floor - including the effects of the Nelson fires of 2001, the expansion of Auckland, droughts and the building of the stadium in Wellington. This title places more emphasis on the images than the text than the previous title, with points of interest labelled on the photographs themselves for quick and easy use.
