This book explores all the ways to fly - especially those that can be affordably enjoyed without a lot of training. The author discusses the fun and reward of the "other" flying sports such as soaring, paragliding, ballooning, remote-controlled airplane flying, ultralight piloting, and hang gliding, and answers the questions most often asked about each one. This is a great introduction to variations on flight that will appeal to all ages. It discusses training requirements, the necessary time investment, cost, equipment, safety, and basics of each option. It is generously illustrated with more than 100 illustrations, including an 8-page color insert.
