Alan Mortiboys contributes questions to two popular BBC TV quiz programmes, Only Connect and Impossible. He is also a lifelong racing fan. In recent years, he has written questions for the Racing Post's 'Horse Play' column although his earliest writing about horseracing was when he had a letter about a betting system published in the Sporting Life Guide... aged just 14!
