Claire Droney, M.Ed, has been teaching children and young people with autism across a range of educational settings for the past 17 years. These include special schools, special classes and mainstream schools. She has worked as an advisor on two busy Autism Outreach teams in both Ireland and London, as well as for the Autism Education Trust (AET), supporting and training school staff at both primary and secondary level. She has worked as a freelance journalist for national newspapers, magazines and journals, and has been published in the Irish Examiner, Autism Parenting magazine and TES online amongst other publications. Annelies Verbiest has been working with children with autism for 20 years. After thirteen years working as a Special Needs Assistant in a special school, she began work as a teacher in a special autism class in a mainstream school. In the last few years, she worked in an Early Intervention Class for young students with autism. She has worked with students ranging from the age of 3 to 18 and has a special interest in behaviour management and establishing efficient classroom systems.
