Rob Tanner is The Athletic's Leicester City correspondent. He was the Leicester Mercury's chief football writer from 2009 until 2019, reporting on the club's rise from the doldrums of League One to the Premier League title. He lives in Tamworth, Staffordshire, with his wife Jayne and his dogs Molly and Max.
