2.1: EVIL SPIRIT MARITAL RELATIONSHIP IS NOT A NEW PHENOMENON

“The subject of spirit husband and spirit wife is generally neglected when it comes to literature on spiritual warfare. A lot of Christians with this problem practice spiritual warfare for years without achieving any tangible result because they did not address and tackle the evil spiritual spouses. If you are involved in spiritual marriage, no amount of warfare prayer can lead you to freedom unless you break yourself loose from the evil marriage”9

It may sound strange to the ignorant that some families have spirit husbands or spirit wives, such personalities generally marry every member of that of family. The evil spouses generally have sex spiritually with every member of the family, thereby enslaving them. “The existence of spirit wives or husbands is neither a fantasy nor a fairy tale it is as real as the air you breath”10

Mosy Madugba & Chinyere G. Madugba wrote that:

“Spiritual marriage is real. While some people are lawful captives to it and even have spirit children that visit them from time to time and hinder them from having children here on earth, some others are the preys of the mighty, who have been initiated into spiritual marriage with marine spirits forcefully. It has heavy consequences that release lot of pains, sufferings and misery to its captives. Many physical marriages are going through so many challenges, harassments and pains because one or both partners are involved in a spiritual marriage with marine agents”11

“Some ladies who are old enough for marriage are not attractive to any man, because they are already married spiritually. Some have suffered so many disappointments from men because of the enslavements of spirit husbands over their lives. When men come, asking their hand in marriage, as soon as they say yes to their proposals, the men will come under terrible attacks from the spirit husbands married to the ladies and if the men do not have what it takes to fight such intense spiritual battle, they will simply withdraw their proposals and runaway”12

“Some women married to spirit spouses have actually gone ahead to physically get married to physical men but because of the wicked activities of their spirit spouses, their marriage became very turbulent and unhappy. Many have ended up in divorces”.13 “Many get pregnant but as soon as their spirit husbands sleep with them, they will miscarry their babies. Sometimes the babies are born in the spirit realms but no physical pregnancy is seen in the physical realm”.14

“Evil spiritual marriage is real. Many suffer helplessly under its yoke”15. “To be ignorant of it, is to prolong and multiply your sufferings”16. It is an aspect of spiritual warfare which has been neglected by the global company of Prayer Warriors, and authors of Deliverance Books. Many Prayer Warriors have not been able to deal with the powers that attack men and women in the night. People suffer terrible problems and received greatest attacks in the night.

“The attacks are usually concentrated on the individual while he or she sleeps and he or she may be awakening with fondling hands, caressing hot lips and tongue and other forms of lust inducing stimulation. At first, the affair may seem quite dream-like and the person may even think he or she is imagining things”17

A lot of people who were healthy, happy, sound and normal, went to bed in the night only to wake up with mysterious sicknesses, like mental disorder, business failures, death of loved ones, collapse of marital relationships and other mishaps. The activities of these wicked night raiders are exposed with the following 4 scriptures:

“In Mat. 13:25, we are told that: “But while men slept his enemies came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away”.

“Sleep is a very strong friend of the enemy. The devil has specialized in using sleep as a form of anaesthesia to perform evil operation on innocent men and women. He makes use of the cover of darkness as a cloak for attacking his victims. He attacks people when they are weak, vulnerable and unprotected. He is conscious of the fact that the moment a person goes to bed, he becomes unconscious and unable to resist attacks. That is why over ninety percent of most attacks which people go through occur in the night”18

No wonder the Bible warns us to: “Have respect unto the covenant for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty” (Ps 74:20 KJV).

“Here reference is being made to a realm that is hidden from human view. This hidden realm is the habitation of wicked forces which operate in the night among which are spirit husband and spirit wives. The Bible makes it clear that members of that evil society are cruel. Everything they do has a tincture of cruelty. Anything they do against individuals in the night is cruel and wicked There are regions of the universe which cannot be seen with our naked eyes. In parts of that invisible realm, lots of activities are carried out with the intent of unleashing cruelty upon men and women. The dark places of the earth are found in every community. The community in which you live is filled with invisible powers whose task is to wait for the hour of darkness and attack men, women and children19

In Job. 4:12-14, we are given a vivid picture of the activities of these spiritual night murderers:

“Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little there of in thought from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men. Fear came upon me, and trembling which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face, the hair of my flesh stood up” Job is here giving an account of how he was attacked by a spirit in his sleep. A spirit visited him and he was plunged into a very devastating problem in his life20.

We are given further insights into the activities of night raiders in Ephesians 5:11: And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reproof them. In this passage, the emphasis is placed on what is done under the cover of darkness. The Bible says that those things are so bad that it is improper to speak about them.21

. Evil spiritual marriage is more complex and real than many people would imagine. Unfortunately, it is a legal marriage, and even though it was contracted in the spiritual realm, the resultant effects are usually visibly noticed in the physical realm. We all know that when a particular thing is legal there are lot of things that are binding upon those who are involved in it. The devil is a legal expert. He is well versed in the laws that governs the spiritual realm. That explains why he has continued to put people in bondage for years.

There is no question whatsoever as to the source of contact with the evil spiritual marriage. These explains why majority of those who are involved with spiritual marriage are kept in the dark concerning their dangerous physical and spiritual state. Satan is generally more effective when his victims are totally ignorant of what they are suffering. This is why there are people who have been captives for years and may even be living with the burden and yoke all the days of their lives. A lot of Christians with this problem went through deliverance on several occasions without achieving any tangible result because they did not confront or tackle their spiritual spouses, who are the vicious sexual spirits which molest and torment susceptible individuals22.

The sexual spirits that attack ladies are called incubus and those concentrating on their male counterparts are succubus. An incubus spirit (from the Latin word which means; “to lie upon)”, is an evil male spirit that lies upon woman in their dreams to have intercourse with them. The succubus spirit (from the Latin word which means; “to lie under)”, is a female spirit that comes at night to have sexual relationship with men.23

Mosy and Chinyere Madugba wrote that:

“There are male marine agents that hold their victims captive sexually. They do that through a marine spirit called Incubus which means to lie upon. These wicked spirits lie upon women in their sleep to have sexual intercourse with them. They overpower and assault women sexually without their consent. It is actually more like spiritual rape. Sometimes, they come with familiar faces like that of one’s husband or other familiar faces to deceive their victim and make her feel that she is having intercourse with her husband or a known face. There are also female marine agents called Succubus meaning to lie under; they seduce their victims to have sexual intercourse with them. These female demons called succubus come to extract seeds from men and go back to give birth to spiritual demons in order to increase their numbers”24

Mosy and Chinyere Madugba expressed that: “These are vicious sexual spirits which can molest and torment susceptible individuals. Sexual spirits that attack females are called incubus and those concentrating on males are called succubus. An incubus [from the Latin: to lie upon] spirit, is an evil male spirit that lies upon women in their sleep to have intercourse with them. The succubus [from the Latin: to lie under] is a female spirit that comes at night to have sexual relationship with men”.25

Olukoya warned that:

“The supernatural world is as real as the physical. What takes place in the spiritual realm affect us physically in our day to day lives. Ignorance is no excuse. The fact that you are...
