CHARLES POZZI – THE MAN, THE IMPORTER, THE TEAM OWNER WHO BUILT THE FERRARI LEGEND IN FRANCE.
France, from the earliest days of Ferrari, has always been a vital market for sales and has also hosted a major part of the on-track success that built the Maranello legend. Ferrari in France was built up single-handedly by a man whose drive and success in sales and on-track make him one of the most important figures, and in particular importers and team owners, in Ferrari history. That man was Charles Pozzi and this is the tale of his life and career, first as a successful racing driver of Talbots and eventually Ferraris, then as agent, dealer and importer from 1969 to 2003, building the network in the key French market. His team L'Écurie Charles Pozzi was one of the most successful in the marque’s history, winning the Tour de France several times as well as scoring class wins at Le Mans. Universally respected not only for his success but for his qualities as a true gentleman, he left a legacy which contributed enormously to Ferrari’s aura in France and beyond. Just like Luigi Chinetti in the USA with NART and Jacques Swaters in Belgium with Écurie Francorchamps, he was one of those who made Ferrari the manufacturer a success, and he was one of Enzo’s closest friends.

Arnaud’s passion for cars bloomed at a very early age. At barely thirteen, an article in the French magazine Sport Auto about the new Ferrari F40 made a very deep impression, a true watershed moment for him, and triggered his love for the Ferrari marque and its history. From that day on he began relentlessly accumulating articles, books and any information on the subject. In 1992, he photographed his very first Ferrari: a 250 GT/E 2+2. In 1998, his first report was shown in the magazine ‘La Gazzetta’, published by a non-official French Ferrari club, Cavallino Rosso. In 2003, Meunier set forth on a career as photographer and journalist, producing event reports and biographies of individual cars for the specialized press. Arnaud has so far collaborated with more than twenty magazines around the world, such as Cavallino Magazine, Forza Magazine, Maranello World, Octane, Motorsport and Classic & Sportscar among others. In 2005, he published his first magazine ‘Berlinetta’, and in 2013 he was requested to write and provide the photographs for the book ‘Tutte Le Ferrari’.
