CHAPTER 2

WHAT IS GOD?

First of all, the word GOD, is just a WORD! It is not and does not capture the true essence and existence of who and what God really is. The word God, in the human language is the highest and most sacred term that can be used to refer to God in a manner that allows us to at least formulate an image of His existence. The human brain operates in imagery, coloring, pictures and concepts. It is able to function successfully because it has the ability to interpret and define the visual signals received from the eyes and process the body and soul in such a way for one to grasp the concept of that thing, understand its process and to define how that image relates within itself. That is essentially how the brain works as in hearing with the ears, tasting with the tongue, feeling with the hands and body and smelling with the nose. Does that make sense?

Although the word, GOD, does not necessarily identify specific physical features, some of us have an image of God as a being who is more powerful than the universe; physically muscular and giant-like in stature; wearing a white robe; sitting on a Golden Throne with a deep voice echoes like thunder and a deep, fiery, piercing gaze in his eyes and a long gray beard. Others may have the image of God as a soft spoken being with long white or blondish hair with a gentle nature, floating almost effortlessly above while patiently looking down on the world hoping that we will accept His love, grace and mercy.

An individual’s image of God is based on his or her cultural background with the two previously stated images being the most common descriptions. However, I firmly believe that both are absolutely not true because God does not have an image. God does, however, possess the ability to APPEAR to us in any form that He chooses, and in many cases He DOES confine Himself to a specific image which is not His truest form, but one which He uses to interact with us. This is so because God understands that the only way the brain is able to properly formulate and conceive who He is for the brain to be able to grasp and form within itself an image of Him. Therefore, He conforms to help us to better understand Him. But ANY image or label that you place on God isn’t Him. God is too vast, too infinite and too powerful to be limited to a single, physical description. In fact, it is impossible for one single body to be in all places at once as we know God to be. Even though it is beyond the willingness of most people to understand and accept, God is NOT a visible, physical being. He is not a human being. He is of a different existence.

The Book of Revelation does, in fact, give a physical depiction of God. However, this does not contradict my conclusion. In fact, it validates it even more. The Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation after God had spoken directly to him through visions. When you take into consideration who God is and how mankind thinks, John wouldn’t have been able to understand or grasp God’s intended message if God didn’t give him images so that his brain could interpret them. Also, if John’s brain could not capture those images and interpret the message that God had intended, John wouldn’t have been able to reinterpret God’s message and the Book of Revelation would not exist. Because God allowed John to see an image of Him doesn’t mean that was God’s original form.

GOD IS NOT FLESH. GOD IS SPIRIT.

Spirit has no shape or boundaries. Spirit is everywhere at once. Most Christians and believers in God would rather rest on the assumption that the Spirit of God exists in a different realm that frequently crosses over into mankind’s realm and that the process of such occurrence is far beyond mankind’s comprehension. Can YOU explicitly define spirit? I often ask Christians and Muslims, “What is God, exactly?” Every time I ask, each of them gives me the same response, “God is a Spirit.” I, of course, follow up with the question, “What is a Spirit? Can you explain it to me, please?” They’re puzzled whenever this occurs and seem to have no further scriptural or logical knowledge sufficient enough to support their response.

When discussing God, flesh and spirit, many questions may arise which may include: Where is heaven? How do you get there? If we are created in God’s image does He have a flesh? If we are created in God’s image wouldn’t that make us spirits? What, exactly, are the realms of Heaven and Hell? I’ve never gotten clear, realistic answers to these questions. Contrary to what most people think about spirit, I firmly believe that spirit is NOT INVISBLE! Spirit can be seen! God INTENDS for us to both understand and have access to His spirit in a realistic, tangible, comprehensive way!

God, Himself, is very much visible, but not to the natural eye nor to the uneducated mind. Spirit can now be seen physically through a microscopic lens in the form of what we call ENERGY! Yes! I said it! And I’ll say it even more clearly! The Spirit of God and the Energy that makes up every physical element in the entire universe are one in the same! Energy is God’s purest existence! Energy! GOD IS ENERGY!

Why do I so boldly claim this you ask? Well, let’s take a look at a few of the commonalities between energy and God.

MAN’S UNDERSTANDING OF GOD

ENERGY

Cannot be killed or destroyed

Cannot be killed or destroyed

Does not sleep nor slumber; is constant

Constantly moving; does not sleep

Has the ability to manifest

Himself in any form that He chooses

Has transformed itself in all forms as in every physical, visible substance

Omnipresent: all places at the same time

Omnipresent; in all places at the same time

Is invisible to the natural eye but can be felt

Is invisible to the natural eye but can be felt and can be seen microscopically

Through Him everything was created

Through Energy everything is created

Is Infinite

Is Infinite

Is neither male nor female; is Spirit; both male and female exist in Him

Is neither male nor female; both masculine energy and feminine energy exist

The similarities between both God and energy are astonishing! However, believers in God have convinced themselves that they “Know” the characteristics, the functions and the capabilities of God WITHOUT the burden of proof.

The challenge with non-believers, especially many scientists and researchers, is that they “Know” about the characteristics, the functions and the capabilities of energy, but they don’t connect the process to God or His existence! Many believers refute science and the scientific discoveries unearthed by these professional truth-seekers. Most scientists refute the religious, systematic concept of energy, faith, God, and spirit! My conclusion is that they’re all one in the same!

GOD, ENERGY AND MANKIND

Energy is defined as the capacity of a physical system to perform work. Energy exists in several forms such as heat, kinetic, light, mechanical energy, electricity, or other forms. According to “The Law of Conservation of Energy”, the total energy of a system remains constant, though energy may transform into another form. One of the primary characteristics of God is His ability to transform and manifest Himself into any form that He may choose whenever He chooses! This is a miracle which relates specifically to the commonality between God and energy.

Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said let us make man in our image after our likeness.” This scripture makes us aware of the fact that God created mankind to look like Him and to be able to perform like Him. As God exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Genesis 1:26 was fulfilled through His son, Jesus Christ, who was on this earth in the flesh. Interestingly enough, mankind also has three important components, flesh which is the body, a spirit which is the conscious mind and a soul which is the subconscious mind. Just as God interacts and communicates with us as a spiritual being, we also interact and communicate with each other in a manner that is spiritual in nature.

Consider your thought at this moment. What, exactly, are you thinking? As soon as you know what your exact thought is, immediately say it aloud! Go ahead, say it! Now let’s examine what just occurred.

You captured a thought in your mind. A thought that is invisible to mankind. It cannot be seen with the natural eye. It is completely silent to the ear, but is 100% real to you, as real as the chair you may be sitting on or as real as the wall you may be standing next to.

Next you took that invisible thought and sent it as an immediate...
