Regarding my Father - poems that came to a son in the last few months of his father's life. The power of that time triggered particular memories of childhood and of my twin brother and my mother as well. They are about the feelings in that special time together as he parted and afterwards the emotion of loss, deliverance and togetherness
Having been writing poems for many years, in 2018 I was suddenly struck, after a thanksgiving visit to cousins in Arizona, Pennsylvania and New York, by my father’s fall and final illness.

The month of being with him, before his passing, and my hugely intensified emotions, triggered immediate thoughts which drove all of the poems in this book.

These poems cover elements of my early life which came to me as I reflected on the shortness of life’s time. As well as those which are about my thinking of my father’s being and his soul. The last part of the book took me to the time after his death and our family’s future existence somewhere together.

I have never been so intensely charged, day after all too short day, by such powerful feelings.

These words belong together and so they are.
