NIDAROS, the Jerusalem of the North, was a very important pilgrimage destination for centuries, until the Reformation. For some years now, pilgrims again have been making their way along St. Olav Ways to Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim in Norway. Schildmann walked th whole track from Oslo till Trondheim alone, not as a member of a group. He tells about his way, his feelings and the reasons for this pilgrimage which in a way already started with his Camino through Spain in 2007.
Michael Schildman already made a pilgrimage on the Way of St. James from the Somport Pass to Santiago de Compostela in 2007. In his first pilgrimage book about the Way of. St. Olav he describes his experiences on this Scandinavian track: from Oslo via Hamar, Lillehamer and Dovrefjell to Nidaros Cathedral. The result was a thought-provoking diary and a special guide to a pilgrimage route that was lonely in many parts. He met a total of five pilgrims on the way.
