Dagmar Dusil, b. in Sibiu (Hermannstadt, Transylvania) - Romania. English and German major at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Emigrated to West Germany in 1985. She is the author of volumes of autofiction in Blick zurück durchs Küchenfenster (Looking Back Through the Kitchen Window) and Kulinarisches Heim- und Fernweh (Culinary Homesickness and Wanderlust). Shortstories collections: Hermannstädter Miniaturen (Sibiu Miniatures), Wie die Jahre verletzen (The Way Years Hurt). Transitschatten (Shades of Transition), her book of poetry, was published in 2015. Her most recent volume, 2019: Auf leisen Sohlen. Annäherungen an Katzendorf (On Soft Soles. Approaching Katzendorf), memories of a year spent in a Transylvanian village nowadays. Some of her writings have appeared in Romanian and English translations. She is included in several anthologies. Memberships: GEDOK Franken, the International Association of Writers KOGGE, the Artists’ Guild in Esslingen and the Exile PEN Club. Recipient of the GEDOK literary prize (2014); second place in the Sparte Lyrik German land writers’ competition (2016 and 2018); Writers’ Prize Katzendorf (2017).
