A complete guide to this famous South American trail includes all planning information trekkers need to begin their hikes, including a special section, new to this edition, on the seven-to-ten day hike to Vilcabamba.
The Inca Trail from Cuzco to Machu Picchu is South America's most popular hike. This practical guide includes 27 detailed trail maps, plans of eight Inca sites, plus guides to Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu. Fully updated new edition includes detailed new guide to the Vilcabamba Trail.

Richard Danbury read philosophy at Cambridge University and trained as a barrister before practicing in criminal law. In a bid for freedom in 1998 he escaped to South America to reinvent himself as a travel writer, spending six months on the continent researching the first edition of this book. He first visited South America in 1992 and has also hiked in North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Married to Trailblazer author, Melissa Graham, he now lives in London and works for the BBC.
