He has received the United States Youth Soccer Association National Girls Coach of the Year Award as well as the United States Olympic Committee National Developmental Soccer Coach of the Year Award. In addition, he has received regional, state, and county coaching and champion of character awards. He has coached several teams to numerous successes on a national level, emphasizing player development, team culture, leadership, sportsmanship, and excellence on and off the field. Players in his programs are well equipped to excel at the next levels of competition, and they also learn valuable life skills, such as remembering to give back to youth and the game. Ashu continues to coach, mentor others, and enjoy the game at various levels.
