Deanne took a beginner’s quilting class over 20 years ago and has loved theart of quiltmaking ever since. She began designing her own patterns when shecould not find what she was looking for in a quilt shop. This led her to beginher quilt pattern design company, Snuggles Quilts, in 2003. Deanne has beensuccessfully self-publishing quilt patterns since beginning the business andcontinues to market them to quilt shops and distributors to be enjoyed byquilters everywhere. Several of her patterns have been published in major quiltmagazines and calendars. Deanne has previously authored two quilt patternbooks. This is her first book with Kansas City Star Quilts.Deanne works from her home studio in Osage, Iowa. Her husband, Craig, hasbeen a great support to her business and even helps when Deanne sells herdesigns at the International Quilt Market. Deanne and Craig have two children, Aliand Mitch, who had to put up with mom yelling “not with those scissors!” a timeor two while growing up. Snuggles the cat is the company namesake since sheseems to take ownership of all the quilts that come out of the studio. She often“stars” in blog posts on Deanne’s website and is quite a hit. Designing quilts,writing patterns and books, and running the pattern company has been the bestjob ever.
