"Horse and Hound" magazine has been looking at point-to-pointing and hunter chasing for many years, giving reports and results on every meeting throughout the UK. Although there are annual form books, this book gives a general overview of the sports. Included is a history of the development of the sport, with profiles of famous riders both past and present. Descriptive reports of some of the great races of this century are included with a special section on the "Horse and Hound" Final Champion Hunter Chase which forms the climax of the season. Famous horses, including hunter chasers which went on to win at Cheltenham and Aintree, are included and there is a selection of articles on training and riding point-to-point and hunter chases. Finally every point-to-point course in Britain is described, with the use of a map, and there is a list of championship winners from the past 50 years.
